The amblyopia treatment method called Curesight, produced by the company Novasight , has been approved for use in the USA. It has been reported that the treatment method, which also includes an eye tracking system, provides increased visual acuity and depth perception in both eyes.
Studies have compared curesight with eye-closing treatment in individuals between the ages of 4 and 9, and it has been reported that curesight treatment is more successful than eye-closing.
Thus, for the first time , it was possible to successfully apply amblyopia treatment with a digital device .
Another successful aspect of the study is that children like this treatment more than closing their eyes. 95% of parents reported that they would prefer treatment with this digital device instead of closing their eyes.

While there are no side effects in either group, how the system works is a bit complicated. After wearing blue-red filter glasses , video content containing an eye tracking system can be watched. While the system sends a blurred image to the dominant or good vision eye, it sends a clearer image to the side with amblyopia. This ensures that both eyes work together and in balance.
Curesight can also check treatment compliance with a web-based tracking system.
